Millhall
Millhall
The Millhall project was a collaboration between the client, architect, builder and us, to create a custom home that was an effortless blend of modern amenities and traditional charm.
Inspired by farmhouses, we incorporated vintage architectural accents such as shiplap on walls and ceiling, reclaimed bricks for the flooring in the entry, and weathered white pine wood tiles covering the walls in the master bath.
We combined antique white, putty, and sage to create a neutral background that allowed us to mix in various wood pieces, metals, leathers, velvets, and linens to give the home a sense of character and a feeling of comfort.
The large open foyer makes a welcoming statement with its brick floor, vaulted shiplap ceiling and industrial chandelier. With all the rooms leading off of the entry, it was important to have a visual flow from this central point. Color, furnishings, patterns, materials, and decor, tie directly back to the entry. Everywhere you look there are design threads weaving everything together for a cohesive look.
To infuse some personality into the kitchen, we opted to break up the wall cabinets with open shelving to display dishware and collectibles, and to cozy-up the nook for a sense of intimacy.
The overall look is timeless and classic, with a sense of calmness that contributes to a comfortable home.
